The streams can be reached via our homepage at www.staatstheater-hannover.de on the respective days of broadcasting. From there you can easily find the site featuring the stream. You can also use the direct link to your stream on the ticket that you will receive via e-mail after purchase in our webshop.

You can browse all appointments in our calendar. Through one simple click on the ticket (Karten) button you will reach our webshop, where you can purchase a ticket. The eight-digit stream code on your ticket will grant you one-time access to your selected stream.

The purchase of one stream code allows you the possibility to play the live stream on one digital device, regardless of how many people are gathered around this device. We are happy if you can enjoy a joint theatre evening with other members of your household!

As a rule, our streams go online 30 minutes before the beginning of the performance. From this moment on, you have plenty of time to enter your stream code.

On your ticket, you will find both the eight-digit stream code and the link to the live stream.

On the start photo on the stream page, you will find a button saying "Video ansehen / Stream Code". One click on this button will open a new window where you can enter your one-time stream code.

It is possible to buy stream tickets on the evening itself. However, we highly recommend that you plan approximately 10 minutes for the booking and registration process.

Enter our calendar and click on Karten (ticket) at the event you wish to attend. This will lead you to our webshop where you can purchase a stream code.

In order to watch a stream you require a stable internet connection and a browser compatible digital device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Our HTML5 player is optimised for the most common browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari, or the system browser of your smartphone or tablet. Please make sure to use the most recent update of your browser. Aside from the automated adaptation of the video quality according to the measured bandwidth, you also have the option to select the quality manually via the player control (depending on the format of your browser the icon could be a gear wheel or three dots). We recommend this in cases where the connection can fluctuate, which can cause dips in the quality. In this case, a lower quality setting is recommended, as the connection will most likely be more consistent.

In addition we recommend you keep an eye on your e-mail inbox. In case you close your browser or switch devices after entering your stream code, you will receive a returnee-link per e-mail. Please refer to our notes for returnees.

Yes, the stream can be played on any internet-enabled device.

The broadcast takes place as an Adaptive HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) in a HTML5 Player. This means that the video quality generally adapts to the available bandwidth. The broadcast begins in the lowest quality for the smallest bandwidth. If the internet connection allows for a higher data transmission, the video will automatically adapt to the best-possible quality. The HTML5 Player can be played in almost all browser versions, software and devices.

If we broadcast the stream live, it means that our performers act live on stage and you are tuning into an authentically live theatre experience. The stream begins punctually at the announced time.

You can log on at a later time, however you will have missed the beginning of the stream. You cannot fast forward or rewind the video.

As a rule, our streams are not subsequently accessible. In some cases, we upload a recording for a limited time into our Mediathek, our media library. There you can also discover various video-on-demand-offers.

Did you enter the eight-digit code from your ticket correctly? Please double-check your spelling. The code is only meant for single use and becomes invalid afterwards. In case you close your browser or switch devices after entering your stream code, please refer to our notes for returnees.

Make sure that you have installed the latest version of your browser. We recommend using current browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari.

Delete the cache of your browser.

Reload the page: If you are using a Windows-computer, press the keys CTRL+F5; if you are using a Mac PC, press the keys CMD (Apple) Shift + R.

In case you close your browser or switch devices after entering your stream code, please refer to our notes for returnees.

For security reasons, the stream code from your ticket can only be used once. Afterwards the code is no longer valid.

Did you shut down your browser or would you like to return to the stream after switching devices? You can request a return-link at any given point through the return-button "erneut anmelden" on the page of the streaming site. This return-link will be sent automatically to your submitted e-mail address.

Did you not receive an e-mail? Please check your spam folder.

Please take note: In case you are not using a ticket that you purchased yourself or if purchased multiple tickets for various people, the return link will still only be sent to the registered ticket purchaser.

Please check whether the sound is activated on your device and whether any potential loudspeakers are properly connected and switched on. The volume of our stream can be adjusted in the bottom left corner via the audio-symbol – please double-check here too whether the volume is activated and turned up. Please check your internet connection. Reload the browser page. Make sure that you have installed the most recent version of your browser.
